Elephanta Caves
Elephanta caves is a place situated 12 km from the city of Mumbai, the capital of the state of Maharashtra, India, which is known for its artistic caves.
There are seven caves in Elephanta. There are 26 pillars in the main cave on which Shiva Bhagana is found in various forms. The historical name of Elephanta is Dharapuri. This place was given by the Elephanta name Portuguesa people. He gave this name because of the elephant statue carved in stone here. Here is an idol of many Hindu gods and goddesses.
